Remnant Restoration   A Ministry of Design for Widows and Orphans
The Brown Project
Motte and Beth Brown live in Colorado with their two children, Sophie
(9) and Henry (6).  Motte works at Focus on the Family and Beth
home-schools the children.  Three years ago, they used a majority of
their savings to be placed on a waiting list to adopt a baby from China.
After waiting 2 ½ years, China had not moved forward in the adoption
process.  Forfeiting their deposit, they applied to adopt two children from
Ethiopa and were immediately matched to a 7-year old girl and a 5-year
old boy.
Two weeks after the Browns were approved for adoption, they were
informed that the boy had severe health problems.  In addition, the birth
mother had just given birth to twins and the adoption agency does not
separate siblings. Despite the hefty fee of almost $50,000, the Browns
decided to adopt all four children!
Working quickly to raise the money, the Browns lost the rest of their
saving as well as their investments in a real estate sale just after the
market plummeted.  Now faced with bills, the cost of the adoptions, and no
money, they humbly asked friends, family, and Village Seven Presbyterian
Church for financial support.
With the assistance of LifeSong for Orphans ministry, the Browns are
raising the money for the adoptions. However, the Browns will be
challenged to provide ideal sleeping arrangements for the children in their
small rented home.  We received an application from them in November
and our selection committee approved the Browns for a Remnant
Restoration project.
